The War Games
Written by: Malcolm Hulke, Terrance Dicks 1st Aired: 19 Apr 69-21 Jun 69 Companions: Jamie, ZoeLocation: unnamed planet and Gallifrey (also unnamed) The Tardis lands in the middle of a battlezone. The time is World War II, the place England-or is it? General Smythe is determined to have the travelers executed, and keeps his people under control via hypnosis. Not far away the Confederate Army battles the Yankees. Still other battles from Roman times onward are being fought on the other side of the mist-bound no-man's lands. The Doctor discovers that the humans are being used in a military experiment by a warlike race, aided by one of the Doctor's own species. Now the Doctor will have to seek help from the very people he fled from so long ago.
