The Time Meddler

Steven, on board the Tardis for the first time, does not believe that it is a time machine. A Viking helmet could be a child's toy or part of a costume, he argues, and later he fights an apparently authentic Saxon peasant for possession of a modern wristwatch found on a path. Speaking to the locals, the Doctor deduces that it is 1066, a pivotal year in British history. When the chanting from a nearby abandoned monastery winds down like a gramophone record, the Doctor realizes that its sole occupant is not what he seems. Indeed, the time-traveling Monk intends to use a modern bomb to wipe out the Viking fleet. So, King HArold won't have have to fight the Vikings and will be better prepared to meet and defeat William the Conqueror. Unless the Doctor can stop the Monk the course of human history is about to make a major wrong turn.
