The Silurians

The Doctor and Liz are called in to investigate mysterious power losses and mental breakdowns at an underground research facility. The Doctor traces these problems to an ancient race of intelligent reptiles in a cave system, the reptiles are called Silurians (they are not from the Silurian era, but the Eocene), and negotiates between them and the humans. But, Dr. Quinn has also made contact and upsets the truce the Doctor has made. A function of the Silurians decides to eliminate humanity with a plague. While the Doctor struggles to find a cure, the disease spreads beyond the facility and into London and slowly the rest of England and France.
