The Rescue
Written by: David Whitaker 1st Aired: 2 Jan 65-9 Jan 65 Companions: Ian, Barbara, VickiLocation: planet Dido, circa 2500 A.D. Vicki and Bennett, the only survivors of a crashed spaceship, await rescue on Dido as the Tardis materializes nearby. The time travelers survive an attack by the monster Koquillian and meet Vicki, who explains that the Didonians killed the crew except for herself and Bennett. While Koquillion claims to be keeping his people from killing the pair, he has been terrorizing Vicki-as has Bennett. The Doctor calls on Bennett to find an empty room. Even as the Doctor awaits his chance to unmask a killer, Ian, Barbara and Vicki make a harrowing journey through the caverns, encountering a giant worm and the silent silver figures of the Didonins.
