Tom Baker
Tom Baker was the forth incarnation of the Doctor and played the part for seven years, making him the longest actor to play the Doctor. This Doctor possesed many characteristics of his former selves. His curiosity for other worlds caused him to gradually sever his connections with Earth and it was during this incarnation that he paid two visits to his home plnet Gallifrey. The first visit involved an assassination plot on the President in which he was implicated by the Master. The second, was to stop an invasion of the Sontarans (see below) and the Doctor briefly became Lord President of Gallifrey. His forth regeneration was ended by the Master, who caused the Doctor to fall from a great height, which killed him. In this regeneration many old enemies returned (such as the Daleks and the Cybermen) and some new ones appeared (such as the Zygons, Davros and the Wirrn). |
