Mandrels

The Mandrels are green-eyed monsters of the planet Eden (Nightmare of Eden) which, at death, decompose into the highly addictive drug, Vraxoin. Several Mandrels escaped from the CET machine causing havoc before they are recaptured.

The CET machine is the Continuous Event Transmuter, invented by Tryst, captured portions of alien planets in crystals to be projected later as a slide show. The instability induced by the materialization of two spacecraft in the same place made it possible for the Mandrels to escape from the Eden projection.
