The Moonbase
Written by: Kit Pedler [w/ Gerry Davis] 1st Aired: 11 Feb 67-4 Mar 67 Companions: Polly, Ben, JamieLocation: Moon, 2070 A.D. The Tardis appears on the Earth's moon near a base used to control the Earth's weather with a Gravitron. Entering the base, the Doctor and his companions find that its staff are suffering from a mysterious virus that leaves victims unconscious and with black lines on their faces and hands. When the Gravitron begins to fail, with potentially dire consequences for the Earth, the staff suspect that the Doctor and his friends are the cause of this. It is Polly who sees the first of the culprits behind all of these events: a Cyberman! The Doctor solves the mystery of the virus, and the humans regain control of the moonbase, but for how long? Outside the surface of the moon, the Cyberships are arriving. Inside, some of the crew are under Cyber control. A relief ship is deflected towards the sun. And the Cybermen take their chance and strike.
