Herbert George Wells (H.G. Wells)

When the Doctor encountered Wells, he was a young and at the beginnings of his writing career. The Doctor was tracking a young Karfelan noblewoman, Vena, who had jumped into a device called the Timelash. Vena arrived outside Wells' log cabin and warned him not to trust those who followed. However, convinced y the Doctor's intentions, the three returned to Karfel and overthrew Mogellon, of the Borad, who was trying to destroy the Karfelans and replace them with creatures such as himself. The Doctor returned Wells to Earth, where he adopted many aspects of this adventure into a number of novels.
