The Curse of Peladon
Written by: Brian Hayles 1st Aired: 29 Jan 72-19 Feb 72 Companions: JoLocation: planet Peladon On the eve of King Peladon's coronation, one of his advisors has been murdered, and the other, priest Hepesh, claims that all of the activities are being caused by the spirit of Aggedor, a supposedly extinct beast whose image is at the heart of their religion. King Peladon wants to bring his people out of the Dark Ages by joining the Federation , an alliance of civilized worlds which includes the Earth. Ice Warriors, an Acturan, an agent from Alpha Centauri are on Peladon to consider the matter, but the Earth representative is late. When the Doctor and Jo arrive, the Doctor is assumed to be the Earth representative. He must fight the king's champion, expose Hepesh and his other conspirators, control the Aggedor and stop a revolution-all before the real Earth delegate arrives.
