The Ark in Space
Written by: Robert Holmes 1st Aired: 25 Jan 75-15 Feb 75 Companions: Sarah Jane, HarryLocation: Earth orbit, far future Harry Sullivan's first trip in the Tardis brings him, the Doctor and Sarah to a space station filled with cryogenically-preserved people meant to repopulate the Earth after devastation by solar flares. 10,000 years have passed, and the Ark's occupants have overslept due to sabotage by insects called Wirrn. When the Ark's commander, nicknamed Noah, is revived, he blames the sabotage on the Doctor and his companions. They ignore the Doctor's warnings, and he finds out about the Wirrn when he is attacked by a freshly-hatched Wirrn larva. Is it too late to save the last hope of humanity from the rapidly maturing brood of Wirrn?
